What is Sevillenca, and why does it matter?โŒ„
Sevillenca is an olive variety native to the dry terraces along the Ebro, grown almost nowhere else.It matters because the land it comes from could never be scaled: only found.
Why single-variety?โŒ„
Most olive oils are blends: different varieties, sometimes different origins, brought together for a consistent taste. Ours isn't. Every bottle is 100% Sevillenca, pressed alone.
Is Arrel Casa Meinal extra virgin olive oil?โŒ„
Yes: a single cold press, close to the trees, without shortcuts. Extra virgin , exactly as it comes off the press.
Why such a small production?โŒ„
Because we're family-owned, and want to keep it that way: small enough to do everything by hand. We also pick early, for better olive oil over more of it. That trade-off has never been a hard one for us.
What does DOP Baix Ebre-Montsiร  mean?โŒ„
A protected designation of origin: legal proof this oil could only have come from this land, made under its rules: origin, variety, and process all independently verified.
How are the olives harvested?โŒ„
By hand, with a vibrating comb: never trunk shakers, which can hurt the tree over time. It takes longer, but respecting the land always comes first.
Is it organic? Are pesticides used?โŒ„
We farm with as little intervention as possible: our family has always favored natural methods over chemical ones, taking as much care of the soil as the trees.
How should I store it?โŒ„
In a cool, dark place, away from heat. Olive oil doesn't like light. The bottle's opacity helps protect what's inside.
When can I buy it?โŒ„
